I graduated college from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point with my BFA in Graphic Design. I have always been very passionate about helping and empowering the people around me. Our voices have power!
This project has changed shape many times over the last year. I started Trashweezle as an activist clothing brand which came from my love for screen printing and using my artwork as a form of activism. In my last semester of college, two things happened that changed everything. One: I got the chance to experience what it was like to create a gallery space from scratch and put on our own juried art show. Two: I helped plan a protest on our campus that ended up being the largest since Vietnam and it made national news.
After I graduated, I wanted to bring the experiences I had in college where ever I went to next.
Trashweezle Art Collective is an opportunity to give artists and other creatives a platform for their work and place to share their experiences with others through interviews, publications, and pop-up art shows. My goal is to shine the spotlight on the amazing, powerful, and diverse creatives I come in contact with.
